Lockdown Security Updates Lockdown Can Cause Loss Of GDP Of 1.5 Lakh Crores!-In view of the recorded cases of Corona, a lockdown or partial lockdown has been imposed for a few days in some areas of Maharashtra, NCR, Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan.

Due to the second wave of Corona, the lockdown or partial lockdown in many states can cause a loss of about Rs 1.5 lakh crore to the country’s gross domestic product (GDP). Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan will account for about 80 percent of it. This has been claimed in a report by SBI Research.

What was said in the report

SBI Research report said, ‘Maharashtra alone can account for 54 per cent of the losses that the current lockdown is likely to cause in various states.’

SBI Research report said, ‘At the moment we estimate that there will be a loss of about 82,000 crore rupees in Maharashtra itself, which can definitely increase further if the curb tightens further. On the other hand, there may be a loss of about Rs 21,712 crore in Madhya Pradesh and about Rs 17,237 crore in Rajasthan.

Lockdown in many states

Significantly, in view of the recorded cases of Corona, a lockdown or partial lockdown has been imposed in some areas of Maharashtra and NCR for a few days. There is a lockdown and night curfew on weekends in Maharashtra. Similarly, in many cities of Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan, several types of curbs have been put in place. Lockdown has been started in 15 districts of Madhya Pradesh. There is also a lockdown in Rajasthan till May 3.

Growth estimate reduced

SBI Research has lowered the country’s GDP growth estimate to 10.4 per cent in FY 2021-22, due to the curbs released in the second wave of Covid 19. Earlier, it had projected a growth of 11 per cent.
